January 2017 – let's change!
I know, I'm late in uploading my monthly report, but since mid-January I've changed host family. Now I live with a local (of course!) Muslim family and their beautiful kids: Olivia, 4 years old, and Awaree, 5 years old. For the past 3 weeks and the next 6 (yes, the end of the project is close!), I'll be helping them in organic gardening and natural building...always with Mailys! :-)
The new project is completely different from the previous one for many aspects:
I'm still unable to decide which one, among gardening and teaching requires more energies. Let's say that, obviously, the first one requires more physical energy, the second one, instead, requires lots of mental energies in preparing the classes;
The new one is definitely “Thai style”: I sleep on a think mattress on the floor, luckily in a big mosquito-net, in a small silt house made in wood and woven bamboo;
Well, Thai food is always Thai food, but this time we don't buy it as often as we did with the previous host family, instead, we cook everything by ourselves. So, I'm becoming quite a good cooker of local food!
4. free time
Considering that the gardening where we work is basically part of the house itself, and, once back from school, kids are always around (and they looove us! ), “free time” is quite an abstract concept. Nevertheless, as I really need to work with my computer for sum applications, I have a time enough to fight with my hotspot in order to be able to work!
Since when I arrived here, I've had many, mainly about writing. Writing about all the good recycling strategies they use (especially plastic re-use), write about her amazing cooking skills (wouldn't be nice a project or cook sharing?), write about bamboo water (a spacial water with incredible healing properties I discover here).
