After 3 weeks that are clearly unforgettable in India

I have had the good luck to participate in the “Global Place” project with Pistes-Solidaires and to discover the activities of the Indian organisation RUCHI that implements many volunteering projects.
The main objective of the first week has been to discover the hosting organisation: its missions and objectives, its internal organisation and meetings with the team members… It has also been the occasion to see and think about how we could collaborate in the future, especially within the frame of the International Civil Service (French program), on which Pistes-Solidaires is currently working.
We have also had the opportunity to share about the tutoring we provide to the volunteers and that is really important for Pistes-Solidaires.
During the second week of the job shadowing, I have discovered what the activities of local and international volunteers can be by being involved directly active in the field.
I have even had the possibility to facilitate some sessions for children with some activities that I had already led in Pistes-Solidaires. At the same time, I have discovered a lot of other methods used by the Indian partner.
Taking part in this mobility abroad has been a great opportunity for me, since it was the first time that I left Europe.
I have lived in a context that was completely different from I had known until now and I have learnt a lot from a personal point of view but also from a professional one.
I have learnt how to adapt myself to new living conditions that are really far from mine, discovered the Indian culture and some parts of the Indian society.
After 3 weeks that are clearly unforgettable, I am going back to France to share with my colleagues all what I have learnt and work on the development of a project with the International Civil Service with RUCHI, now that I know that the partner will be able to lead a qualitative work with the volunteers that we will send.
