Memory of Job shadowing of Steven - week 1

Week 1- 12th October -16th October 2015
Arrival and Orientation
I arrived in Poland on 12th October 8.30pm in Leszno where I was given my flat room with great welcome from the Polish volunteers.
13th October 2015- Town Visitation and Dinner
We had full day in the town orientation to know the location of the basic places like supermarket, hospitals, train station, bus stations and basic facilities for refreshment and police office in case you have problem.
We also had dinner with the staffs of CAT in the local restaurant next to the office where we were briefed about life in Leszno and history of the people of Leszno.
14th/10 15: Orientation at CAT
The meeting started at 8.30 am at CAT office where we introduced to all CAT staffs and volunteers. We had a short presentation about our country to the volunteers and issued our country flag to the CAT president as memory. Marlena led the orientation and thereafter we headed for Polish Lunch. After the lunch we had time to bond with the staffs and volunteers
After the orientation we headed to the introduction by over 16 international Volunteers working on different project within CAT and welcome Dinner.
15th October 2015 Team Building Excises at Arena Kreativewnej Edukacji
This day, we meet the entire volunteer for Team Building excise. This was to enhance cultural integration and association during the 21 days working together. It was to help us understand each person strength and weakness as well us understand basic norms for each one of us.
16th October 2015- Managing European Projects
Since this was EU project coordinated by Cazalla intercultural, we had the chance to understand Managing EU project. Mr Adams who is the Finance Manager of CAT took us for whole day training on the basic accountability tools for EU project most so that relate to hosting and sending EU volunteers . He actually had more emphasis on documentation of the financial tools and evidence of the utilization of the money.
Weekly Evaluation
In the afternoon we had weekly evaluation from the project, what we like most, what should be changed and the evaluation was conducted by Marlena.
Saturday 17th October 2015: Visitation of Osieczna
Weekend was our free days to visit some of the local touristic sites and during our first weekend, we visited Osieczna which was a castle of the Queen during the world war, the areas have rich history of Poland. We were accompanied by Kishor .
Sunday 18th October-Visitation of Polish Church
We had time to visit different Polish Catholic Church and observer the religious different between Polish catholic and our Protestants churches in Kenya. We also visited a number of catholic cemeteries in the Leszno the region
