EVS activity in NEPAL
The EVS Volunteers will be places in Okhaldhunga Community, a remote village is located in Everest Region, in the northeast part of Nepal. Click here,
The Volunteers will work under various projects below such as
1. Teaching in community schools and teaching computer science
2. “Children’s Club and child rights”,
3. Health, Sanitation and Hygiene education project and Entrepreneurship development.
The schools will be closed for a month due to summer vacation in July. During that time volunteers will work under other alternative programs such as Agro farm, or Entrepreneurship development. We also have an option for “ Film and documentary project”
Project 1: Teaching in Community Schools:
VIN’s teaching in Nepali-Community Schools project targets EVS volunteers or interns who are looking to take part in a hands-on Nepali classroom experience. With this help, VIN hopes to deliver the children and their local communities a crucial life skill: speaking English.
Daily activities

Teach regular English classes and other subjects, Creating lesson plans for your daily teaching.

Interacting with the children of the local community.

Helping the other teachers advance their English.

Create local teaching resources with local teachers.

The volunteers can also teach Teaching Computer Science
Teach basic IT to local youth, public/community schools as well as their teachers, communi ty youth and women.

Project 2: Child Right’s and Children’s Clubs
VIN’s children’s clubs are co-curricular projects set up for children of 6 to 16 years of age. This is a plat- form provided for children that aims to develop their innate skills, develop their creativity, increase their awareness of community issues such as health and the environment, as well as help them apply what they have learnt in the classroom to real life situa- tions. Activities :

Create workshops that deal with leadership training, life skills and other ways to empower kids.

Creating lesson plans for your daily teaching.

Organize creative activities oriented around such tasks as contemporary dance &/or formal debate on issues such as promoting/protecting human rights.
Project 3: Health, Sanitation and Hygiene Education

Consult with local community about their current health condition.

Work on improving basic sanitation habits with the local community.

Visit children’s clubs & public schools to raise awareness & give first aid tips.
ACCOMODATION and FOOD
The EVS Volunteers will be accomodated in the host family in Okhaldhunga community. The accommodation will be in sharing basis. They will be provided with 3 meals per day which will be cooked by the host family.
LANGUAGE SUPPORT
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
The EVS Volunteers will be provided with the pocket money as per the provision of EU. VIN will manage the food and the transportation for the Volunteers.
